Therapeutic services for young people who have faced adversity

About

Room 4… was set up to provide a safe, space and place offering therapeutic interventions to young people, who have endured ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and trauma. Room 4… is focused on recovery and the belief that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilled life. With the right therapeutic interventions and support we believe that all young people can thrive, as opposed to survive. Every superhero has experienced trauma... traumatic growth acknowledges their super powers that enable discovery and gain mastery.

Our Mission

To provide therapeutic interventions with a focus on recovery from trauma to the young people of Haverhill and the surrounding areas; bringing hope and future possibilities to those who have experienced adversity.

Our Promise

To work with the community offering a greater sense of belonging Room 4… aims to work with existing provision within the area. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child - not just one thing or person, but a collective society.

Individual therapy sessions for young people aged 11-25. Interventions will use psycho-education and creative mediums, including modern storytelling using music, film, art, dance and other creative expression, all essential for processing traumatic experiences. All Room 4 therapists work with a trauma recovery approach, and use neuro-scientifically proven developmental models. Trauma is then processed in an indirect safe way, like learning through play.

Trauma is healed through the relationship. The best buffer against trauma is a secure attachment with parents, carers and other significant adults in their lives.

At Room 4… we believe in the importance of all relationships. We work with all of those around the young person.
